Folktale from the Tualipang Pemón people of the Amazon (Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana).

Allyssa says: I first discovered the story of Little Crab with Magic Eyes in a book of stories to read aloud and I loved it immediately. I love it because there are so many great animal characters, a repetitive fun call for the eyes to go and return, magic(!) and plenty of room for the imagination and kids input. The crab is clever, the vulture resourceful and even the foolish jaguar has an okay outcome.
